In short

This website is the personal, informational site of Luca Andrea Carlino. It does not collect personal data on its own: there are no accounts, no cookies and no third-party scripts unless you choose to enable analytics. The only personal data that can reach the controller is what you decide to send by email.

The contact form

The form in the Contact section does not send anything to this website. When you press “Request a private conversation”, your browser composes a message in your own email client with the details you entered: name, email address, phone number if given, capital range, area of interest and your message. Nothing is transmitted until you send that email yourself, and it travels through your email provider to the address below, as ordinary correspondence.

Messages received in this way are used to reply to you and to prepare a first conversation. They are kept for as long as that exchange is open and, where a legal obligation requires it, for the period set by law. They are not sold, shared for marketing or passed to third parties, other than the providers needed to run email and store correspondence.

What your browser stores

Two preferences can be saved in your browser's local storage — not in cookies — and never leave your device:

  • the light or dark theme you selected;
  • your choice about analytics, if you have made one.

Both can be removed at any time by clearing site data in your browser. Without them the site simply returns to its defaults.

Analytics

Analytics are switched off. No request is made to any analytics provider, and no identifier is set, until two conditions are met: the owner enables measurement on the site, and you give consent in the notice shown at the bottom of the page. If measurement is enabled, it will use either Plausible (cookieless, aggregated statistics with no personal identifiers) or Google Analytics 4 with consent mode, and this policy will name the provider in use. Consent can be withdrawn at any time through “Cookie settings” in the footer, which reopens the notice.

Technical logs

Like any website, the hosting infrastructure that serves these pages may record technical logs — IP address, browser type, requested page and time — for security and operation. Those logs are handled by the hosting provider under its own terms and are not used by the controller to identify visitors.

Legal basis

Correspondence you initiate is processed to take steps at your request before any agreement, and on the basis of the controller's legitimate interest in answering enquiries. Analytics, when enabled, rely solely on your consent.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the UK GDPR you can ask, at any time, to access the personal data held about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting what was done before. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Italy the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, in the United Kingdom the Information Commissioner's Office. To exercise any of these rights, write to the address below.
